Abstract:

In this article, the text of the televised debate between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad andMir Hossein Mousavi in ​​the context of the tenth presidential election of the IslamicRepublic of Iran (June 2009) has been studied using PDAM's discourse analysismodel, which includes five levels: "surface level", "surface depth", "depth level","deep" and "deeper".Based on the results obtained, in this debate, Mousavi theorized the inefficiency ofthe ninth government and saw that Ahmadinejad's acceptance was lost as a resultof his closed cultural policy. He called Ahmadinejad's policies extremist and hadnegative consequences. He also blamed the government's tyranny and lawlessnessfor contradicting the Imam's teachings and accused Ahmadinejad of projecting toregain power.Ahmadinejad, while defending the government's performance and theorizingsabotage and destruction against the government, has criticized the performance ofthe war government of Mousavi and his supporters, as well as the politicalpositions of Mousavi and his supporters, and theorized his and his supporters'lawlessness.
