Abstract:
The dynamic response of the shelter structures subjected to the near-field and with no-contact explosion and blast loadings can have a considerable amount of complexity. Therefore, this complexity is caused by the relatively interaction between soil and structure and the attenuation of the explosion waves in the soil environment. In the present research, the finite element analysis is done through the explicit method by the finite element computer software called ABAQUS. The structure modeling is done by using the membrane elements which the effect of the soil-structure interaction is modeled by using Wolf’s spring-mass-spring model. The explosion and blast loading are modeled using the linear pressure-time history model based on equal trinitrotoluene (TNT) and the explosion and blast loading distance. The Johnson-Cook material model is used for the sensitivity rate of the material’s strain. The assessment of the soil’s survey, soil type, and depth of burial are investigated in this present research. Results show the soil-structure interaction and soil type play an essential role in the dynamic response of the structure. Also, the mean amount of surrounding soil helps reduce the response of the structure subjected to the near-field no-contact explosion and blast loading.
