Investigating the rate of Internet addiction and the factors affecting it among students of Tabriz University

Abstract:

Among the global networks, communication is the most extensive Internet network. In addition to standalone computers and small local area networks, this network also accommodates most of the global networks and provides the possibility of exchanging information between them. The need to use the Internet in today's fast-paced world to do many things on the one hand and its effects is increasing worldwide. But sometimes this consumption becomes a kind of addiction among users, especially young people. Due to the importance of the subject, the present study seeks to investigate the extent of Internet addiction and the factors affecting it. The statistical population of this study includes the students of Tabriz University. According to the sampling, 380 people were selected as the statistical sample. Data collection tool was a questionnaire and SPSS21 software was used to analyze the data. Examination of the results shows that there is a significant correlation between the variables of social adjustment and respondents' self-esteem and Internet orientation.
