Examining and criticizing the views of contemporary commentators in the interpretation of verse 18 of Surah Zukhruf

Despite the Qur'an's acknowledgment of the equality of men and women in their inherent dignity, faith, righteous deeds, heavenly spirit and role model for believers; But the interpretation of most contemporary commentators from verse 18 of Surah Zukhruf is the lack of female intellect compared to male. Contemporary commentators have considered the two attributes mentioned in this verse for women, namely, interest in ornaments and the weakness of expressing the purpose in the conflict, as a result of the lack of female intellect. This article, with a descriptive-analytical method, after examining the context of the verse and reflecting on the subject, concluded that contrary to the view of the commentators who agree with this view, raising a woman in the midst of ornaments and her weakness in controversy is not an inherent and unchangeable description. There is no attachment to adornment and compassion. Rather, these attributes can be changed by education, secondly, this attitude indicates the kind of view of women in the age of ignorance and non-Islamic educational systems, and in the Qur'anic educational system, women can grow and refresh the power of reason by learning scientific and practical wisdom. He also put his nature under the leadership of reason.
