Knowledge of political interpretation
The use of hard power in politics is not always the answer to meeting the needs and may face resistance due to the image of force and coercion. In contrast to this, there is soft power, which has a softer and more flexible aspect. This article seeks to examine soft power more closely, seeking to answer the question of what is the importance of soft power, its pillars and strategies? The research will try to answer this question using descriptive-analytical method and based on library resources. The findings of this research show that soft power is the ability to achieve a goal through attraction and not through coercion and enticement. The importance of soft power is in improving relations between governments, gaining international prestige and credit, and influencing public opinion. The pillars of soft power include beliefs and values, trust, credibility; two structural and non-structural methods in producing soft power; Strategic narratives as sources of power include actors, environment, conflict or action, dispute resolution, however, soft power has characteristics that cause it to be criticized.
