Investigating the impact of supporting sections on the main sector of Iran's sports industry using a holistic conceptual model

The purpose of this study was to investigating the impact of supporting sections on the main sector of Iran's sports industry using a holistic conceptual model. The research methodology was a exploratory mixed method. That is, first, using the qualitative method «Grounded theory – Systematic approach», a conceptual model was designed and then using the quantitative method «Structural Equations - Partial Least Squares approach» the impact of support sections on the main part of Iran's sports industry was examined. Data gathering tool in quantitative method was a questionnaire. The statistical population was the people who played a role in creating a variety of sports activities in Iran. 604 questionnaires were answered. Data analysis was performed using SPSS22 and Smart-PLS software and R2 was 0.34 and GOF was 0.36. Considering that the significance level of 95% (coefficient of effect 1.96) was determined, the findings showed that the effect coefficient of five support categories of Iran's sports industry: educational centers (6.770), sports facilities and places (5.072), sovereignty institutions (4.726), consultants (3.241), & media (1.988) was significant and the effect coefficient of the other three support categories: sports goods and facilities (0.886), income supporters (1.006), & culture makers (1.075) was insignificant. As the findings showed, Iran's sports industry has problems in the fields of finance, culture and production of quality and competitive sports goods. These problems are such that they should be addressed by senior sports officials and members of parliament (top to down) through the submission of expert bills and plans and necessary measures.
