Abstract:
The present study aims to explain the nature, goals and functions of the higher education system based on the knowledge research approach. This research is analytical-inferential in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection. The statistical population includes all professors and specialists in the field of education in the field of higher education, 440 people. Using Krejcie and Morgan table, the number of samples was calculated 201 people and were selected through simple random sampling method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. Factor analysis and Chi-square test were used to analyze the data.The findings show that there is a significant difference between the views of professors and experts in the field of education in the field of higher education in the nature and functions of the higher education system based on the knowledge research approach. There is no significant difference between the views of professors and experts in the field of education on the goals of the higher education system based on the knowledge research approach. There is no significant difference between the views of professors and experts in the field of education in the field of knowledge research functions of discovery, application and teaching. However, there is a significant difference between the views of professors and experts in the field of education on the function of integrated research in higher education based on the approach of knowledge research. According to the research approach, Iranian higher education needs a general review in the formulation and implementation of promotion, reward, balancing regulations in all faculty members according to the functions of research, discovery, training, application and integration.
