Abstract:

The purpose of the present study is the sociological review of the effective factors on political culture based on Mark Tessler's theory. The statistical population of the research consisted of 6508 students from Farhangiyān universities in Sanandaj, Kermānshāh, Hamedān, Khorram Ābād, and Ilām among whom the sample of study was estimated to be 362 members based on Cochran formula. The sampling method was stratified random sampling and a questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. The research findings were analyzed by Kendall's Tau-b & c & γ, Chi-square, and Cramer's V. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the variables of gender/educational semester and the political culture of students while the variable of ethnicity has no effect on their political culture. Moreover, according to the results, the majority of students at Farhangiyān universities in the west of the country have a tendency to indifferent and democratic political culture.
