Model evaluation and classification of contemporary biophilic buildings in Iran
The biophilic design approach aims to create favorable conditions for humans in different types of human environments and at the same time restore the broken relationship between humans and nature. Biophilic design guidelines and principles are general and flexible. In order to better understand the possibilities of architectural expression provided by the biophilic design approach, the existing classifications of biophilic architecture and examples of biophilic design have been analyzed with the aim of developing a classification that reflects the link between building architecture and biophilic qualities. "Descriptive" research method - Analytical" and "physical content analysis" is architecture, and distinct categories were shown with specific building examples, and evaluation of biophilic qualities and the potential of cooperation between man and nature of these sample buildings was done using a comprehensive system of criteria. Research findings have shown that three categories of biophilic architecture were distinguished in the developed classification: 1. imitative type, 2. functional type and 3. Organic type. Also, the results have shown that all three categories of imitative, functional, and organic species have the possibility of creating biophilic environments and the potential of human-nature cooperation, although organic biophilic design is currently less considered by architects in design.
