The relationship between corona pandemic and sleep quality and impulsivity in primary school children
The outbreak of Covid 19 disease has led to changes in the daily and normal life of families and has particularly affected the lifestyle of families. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between corona pandemic with sleep quality and impulsivity in primary school children in the two cities of Karaj.
This descriptive study was a correlational study. The statistical population of the study included all primary school students in the second district of Karaj in the academic year 2021-2022, of which 377 students were selected by multi-stage random cluster random sampling and data using the epidemiological questionnaire of the World Health Organization (2020) corona virus. The quality and sleep habits of Owens et al. (2000) and the Hirschfield Children's Impulsivity Scale (1965) were collected and analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression.
Pearson correlation matrix analysis showed that there is a relationship between corona epidemic and sleep quality and students' impulsivity (p<0.05). Multivariate regression results also showed that corona pandemic predicts changes in sleep quality and impulsivity.
Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the higher the limitations of the corona virus pandemic, the higher the rate of negative sleep habits and impulsivity
