Abstract:

One of the important topics of Quranic sciences that has always been discussed and disputed is the issue of whether the Prophet (PBUH) benefited from reading and writing or not? In this regard, personal ijtihads and mental constructions and some researchers, especially intellectuals, have reached the point where they have taken a position against the clear text of the Quran and the clear history of the Prophet's life and want to impose their personal opinions and opinions on the verses and historical evidence. This research explains the views and opinions of Orientalists and criticizes their views on the Prophet's (PBUH) being a mother. The main goal was to answer the doubts raised by Western and Islamic thinkers regarding the Prophet's Umi. The main question: Was the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the process of receiving Ummi revelation? The main hypothesis: the verses of the Qur'an, including the opening verses of Surah Al-Alak, which are based on reading the verses and not writing them by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), as well as the verses which refer to the fact that he did not write them down, all refer to the fact that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was an Ummi. ) is at the time of receiving revelation. Findings of the research: The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was illiterate at the time of receiving the revelation, and after communicating the revelation and reaching the rank of Prophet and establishing the Islamic government, he began to read the verses of the revelation. The Prophet's motherhood in the Holy Qur'an was not only used in the sense of illegible or illiterate, but it also had different meanings such as Arab nation and Umm al-Qari; Therefore, the use of Ummi to the Prophet means someone who lacked human literacy, although it has strong and stable documentation in terms of history, but other historical documents such as the inclusion of Muhammad's name by the Prophet in the peace treaty of Hudaybiyah and his request for duaat at the end The age of these historical documents poses a serious challenge. The current research method was analytical-descriptive and based on library sources.
