Reflection on the Development of Scientism based on the Revelatory Rationality from the Perspective of the Qur'an
The development of scientism based on rationality and appropriate to society's culture is recommended in social sciences; but the development of scientism in the contemporary world is limited to experimental sciences and is based on secular rationality. Since scientism in Islamic culture is adopted from revelation, the development of scientism in Islamic society should be based on revelatory rationality. The aim of the article is the development of scientism along with the purity and understanding of the truth and modern understanding of the text in accordance with the needs of society and the localization of science in a comprehensive way of the concept of scientism. This article uses the comprehension method of text analysis. The findings of the research include the development of formal sciences in the direction of divine obedience, scientism along with purity from vices, physical and mental deviations, and growth in worldly and hereafter affairs, and teaching wisdom to reach the truth through science and reason and prevent from error and ignorance. The expansion of the concept of scientific experts (Raskhoon fi al-'ilm, Uotu al-'ilm and Ahl al-Dhikr) to commentators in the analysis of verses is in accordance with the needs of the society by observing the conditions of interpretation and the development of scientism in a monotheistic society with considering divine independence. The result of the research is the development of scientism based on revelatory rationality in having divine obedience, purity, wisdom, and the expansion of specialized scientific understanding in the interpretation and comprehensibility of the content of divine verses. Therefore, scientism is not exclusive to material and experimental sciences, rather, it includes empirical and non-empirical, material and spiritual, physical and spiritual sciences, in this world and the hereafter.
