Abstract:

In Iran's legal system and according to the Islamic Penal Code, which is based on Shia jurisprudence, the punishment for intentional homicide is generally retribution. An example of murder is honor killing or honor killing. Honor killings are actually murders in which a woman is killed by her father, brother, husband, or a male relative for the purpose of protecting her honor. The statistics in the country's official media say that in the last two years, from June ˺˽˹˹ to the end of June ˺˽˹˻, at least ˺˿˾ women were killed in the country; That is, on average, every four days, a woman is killed by one of the men in her family in different parts of the country, and ˼́ of these cases are the perpetrators of honor killings, and in the first ˼ months of this year, ˻̀ cases of honor killings were reported. The black figure of these cases is much more. In order to deal with this crisis, we first examined the factors and international measures and the situation of the Middle East countries in order to be able to provide a suitable solution to this issue.
