Analysis of Surah Yasin using speech act theory Emphasizing the example of John
The application of linguistics in the study of religious texts, including the Holy Quran, helps in its systematic reading. One of the sub-branches of linguistics is the pragmatics of language, which is manifested in approaches such as speech act theory. The theory of "speech act" is one of the important topics of discourse analysis in the field of linguistics, which was first proposed by "Austin" and after him, "Searle" presented a fivefold classification for it. The basis of Searle's speech act theory is based on the fact that a plan of a verb followed by a sentence in the discourse process can be divided into five categories of declarative, emotional, persuasive, obligatory and declarative actions. Considering the centrality of refinement that exists in Surah Yasin and drawing a desirable value system in this Surah, the present study aims to explain the structure of Surah Yasin and with a descriptive-analytical method, it aims to answer the question of what are the different types of speech acts in Surah Yasin. ? The main message of the surah defines a new value system in the form of a statement. The act of commitment in the form of oaths that goes from completely visible and tangible things to unseen and intangible things provides reassurance and expression of the importance of the matter for the tellers.
