Training Need Assessmentfor the Joint Operations in the future war Environments

The first and most basic step in the formulation and implementation of the training program is the correct and real-based implementation of theneed assessment process.Extensive requirements, resource and timeconstraints, and the need for continuous improvement of staff capabilities in the joint operations theater require a need assessment,in order to provide an accurate and comprehensive assessment of the facilities and limitations of the current situation and available resources needed for future programs.This research attempts to identify the components and indicators of need assessment in the jointoperations training ofthe Islamic Republic of Iran Army (I.R.I Army) and to determine the existing situation of the needs assessment in the training of the joint operations. This paper is an applied study. Data collection has been conducted, using survey and library methods as well as the first hand documents, interviews and questionnaires. The required components of the I.R.I Army's joint training were determinedthrough analyzing documents and interviews;then, the indicators of each component were specified by processing the questionnaires. The result was 7 components and 26 indicators.At the end, the current status of the need assessment in joint operations training of the I.R.I Army has been evaluated, according to the specified indicators.
