Cognitive analysis of dimensions and factors affecting the self-efficacy of senior managers in sports organizations

This study aims to cognitively analyze the dimensions and factors affecting the self-efficacy of managers in sports organizations. This research has a qualitative nature and it uses data-based theory theorizing strategy. The statistical population of the study included the professors of the expert faculty in the sports management group and the country's sports officials (minister, deputy ministers and other sports policy makers) who were purposefully selected. Data collection tool and method was semi-structured individual interview. After 13 interviews, the data reached the stage of theoretical saturation and the data were coded with a constructive approach and analyzed using Max Kyoda software. After discovering open source in the first stage, 14 main concepts under the headings of organizational factors, organizational performance, thinking style, career path, trust, motivation, individual performance, professional development, emotional intelligence, learning, group performance, experiences, collective self-efficacy And individual self-efficacy was formed. Then, by examining the overlap of the extracted concepts, the main categories of research including self-efficacy components, effective factors (antecedents) and desired outcomes were obtained, and finally, the theorizing and the final research model were designed. Based on the research results, studying and strengthening the components affecting self-efficacy can affect the self-efficacy of sports managers at the individual and collective level and ultimately lead to performance improvement at different levels in the organization.
