An analysis of Abbas Khalili's novel Black Times from the point of view of criminology

Contemporary Persian fiction works as a rich and fruitful treasure, has various capacities and capabilities and this collection can be studied and researched from different perspectives and with different approaches. Numerous topics such as sociology, law and psychology are embedded in fiction. By contemplating about these works from the perspective of jurisprudence, especially criminology as a nascent and multidimensional science, research can be done that combines experiences and methods and simultaneously use the achievements of both Persian language and literature and he brought law and took a big step towards interdisciplinary studies. In the present article, the novel Black Times by Abbas Khalili as one of the first examples of social novels that emerged in response to the requirements of Iranian society in the first Pahlavi period will be examined and analyzed from a criminological point of view. In this work, the author has depicted the horrible situation of Iranian women through a socially critical view and vivid and painful descriptions. The achievement of this article, which has been done analytically-descriptively and based on the library method, indicates that contemporary Persian fiction works have legal teachings and pathological approaches in the field of issues related to criminological knowledge and the causes of crimes. The correct explanation of them and the correct reading of these legal propositions and concepts, bring the interdisciplinary link between literature and law and, consequently, the effective formulation of legal laws and regulations, and will be an effective factor in preventing crimes and reforming the individual.
