Abstract:
Wahhabism, as one of the active sects in the current era, has bizarre views in the realm of reason. Wahhabi's point of view about reason can be examined in two axes: First, the function of reason from the viewpoint of Wahhabis, using reason in understanding religious texts; Second, whether or not reason is a source of reason from the view point of Wahhabis, who Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and his followers did not accept the authority of reason as a source of knowledge. Being reason as a source of knowledge can also be examined in two aspects: theoretical , and practical reason; Since it may seems that many rational arguments have superficial contact with religious texts, the Wahhabists say that what conflict with religious text is not reason, Rather, it is an illusion that has appeared under the cover of reason, thus, it should not be called reason. Wahhabis consider rational reasoning correct if only it supports and agrees with the Narration and Hadith. In the field of Practical Reason, although many of them have considered goodness and ugliness in practice, but never confess to it theoretically.
