The Historical and Economic Grounds of the Formation of Absolute Monarchy

The political structure in every civilization and country has a positive relationship with the country’s dominant economic grounds and relationships. Absolute monarchy as a sort of political structure, being dominant in Europe in 15th to 17th century, is not an exception. To explicate the reasons of forming such a structure in Europe in that period, one should explore the material and historical developments that made it inevitable. Absolute monarchy can be considered a non-democratic political structure whcis based on non-personal law and regulations. The aim of such monarchy was centralizing power and creating a unitary governance in a specific territory in order to facilitate economical and commercial issues. Using narration analysis method and investigating the history of Europe in the past decades, this study reports shortly the history of political structure in Europe and then explores the material and historic grounds of the formation of absolute monarchy, the reasons of forming such a political structure, the concept of enlightened authoritarianism, and its characteristics. The main hypothesis of the study was the centrality of trading in Europe civilization and the influence of trade and economy on other parts of the civilization of the continent, including culture, politics, from economic and commercial issues. Therefore, the author believes that the purpose of absolute monarchy explored and discussed in this study was facilitating and helping trade and economic issues in different counties of Europe, especially in Western Europe.
