Analytical Review of the Content of Concubine License in Qajar Era

Documents, as one of the first-hand sources, play an important role in the historical researches. As a type of Shari'ah documents arising from Islamic jurisprudence, concubine documents have certain principles and frameworks from which a lot of information can be obtained in the field of culture, society, economy and customs of the past people. The main question of the current research is what were the themes and content of the concubine license in Qajar era (1210 -1343 A. H). The findings of the research clarify that concubine license in Qajar period were influenced by Sharia and customary laws in terms of content and the social status of people was effective in the way they were written.
