Examining the performance of the medical services of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army during the covid 19epidemic (casestudy, Tehran province)
The World Health Organization (WHO) categorized the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak as a global pandemic on 12th March 2020. After declaration of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Iran government took several measures to contain the outbreak. As the epidemic propagated, and due to limited resources ,both military and law enforcement civil service of Iran was assigned to integrate in operating the National epidemiological efforts in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MoHME) and established a system to cope with the disease COVID-19 pandemic. This study assessed the impact of a armed forces strategies, guidelines and supervisions of Islamic Republic of Iran army on managing the outbreak in terms of military hospitals preparedness for emergency admission of patients, responses to overall daily emergencies, providing the lifesaving medical equipment and medicines. Results generally showed that Islamic Republic of Iran Army has played a pivotal role in crisis public administration to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as providing the medical and protective equipment.
