Investigating the effect of social capital on renewable energy consumption in selected Islamic countries
Energy is very important in the growth and development of countries. But the increase in energy consumption has caused environmental damage. Therefore, the use of renewable energy sources is a necessity. In the meantime, several components affect the use of this type of energy, of which social capital is one of the most important. In this regard, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of social capital on the consumption of renewable energy in selected Islamic countries in the period of 2015-2022 and using the method of Dynamic common correlated effects. The results indicate that social capital has a positive effect on the consumption of renewable energy in selected Islamic countries in both short-term and long-term periods. Therefore, it is suggested that policymakers pay attention to the strengthening of social capital in selected Islamic countries. In this way, to speed up the transition to a revised energy consumption.
