Assessment and Analysis of Influential Components in Defenseless Urban Spaces A Case of District One in Tabriz

In this research, the analysis of influential components in vulnerable urban spaces at the neighborhood level within one municipality of Tabriz is conducted. Urban spaces are pivotal for citizens' life and activity, aiming to provide safe, healthy, stable, and attractive environments that cater to diverse societal needs based on individual characteristics, age, social groups, and gender. The study utilized the T-test to analyze components, dimensions, and effective areas in vulnerable spaces, categorizing twelve investigated components into three groups and assessing their impact separately. Additionally, one-way variance analysis was employed to compare 13 neighborhoods in Tabriz city, with subsequent ranking using the Vicor model. Results highlight that physical-environmental components exerted the most significant impact on the formation of vulnerable spaces, revealing notable differences among localities concerning missing spaces, corners, inadequate lighting, and specific alley and street configurations like L-shaped and U-shaped layouts, underpasses, and bridges.
