Investigating the effect of using augmented reality technology on students' learning and retention in English language course

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using augmented reality technology on learning and retention of seventh grade students in English language course. Statistical Society; All seventh grade students were from one of the high schools in Tehran in the academic year of 1397-98. Statistical sample was selected using available sampling method. This experimental study was a pre-test-post-test with a control group. The number of samples in this study was 30 people, 15 of whom were randomly assigned to the experimental group and the other 15 to the control group. To collect information about this research, a researcher-made questionnaire based on Heidari (2017) research was used, which included 20 questions. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by 12 professors and experts in the Department of Educational Sciences and the reliability coefficient of the learning and retention questionnaire was obtained using Cronbach's alpha test of 0.94 and 0.91, respectively. After collecting data using descriptive statistics (frequency, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (analysis of covariance), the results were analyzed and showed that the use of augmented reality technology in learning and retention of seventh grade students in English is effective.
