The Relationship between Personality Traits and Resilience in Intelligence-Security Personnel

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between personality traits and resilience in intelligence-security personnel. For this purpose, this question was raised that what is the relationship between these two variables in the employees in question. According to the nature of the research questions, the correlational research method was used. The statistical sample of employees was selected by the method of available people, which was a number of 89 people. The participants answered the questions of the five personality traits (NEO) and Connor and Davidson resilience questionnaires. After collecting the data, they were analyzed using SPSS 23 software and Pearson's correlation coefficient method. The analysis of the results of each of the sub-hypotheses showed that a coefficient (35.) was obtained between the two variables of personality traits of conscientiousness and resilience, which is significant at the 99% level. A coefficient (-17.) was obtained between the two variables of neuroticism and resilience, which was not statistically significant. Between the two personality variables of extroversion and resilience, the coefficient (23.) was obtained, which is significant at the level of 95. Between the two variables of personality characteristics, the coefficient of compatibility and resilience was obtained (10.) that the calculated coefficient, although it indicates a positive relationship between the two variables; But it was not statistically significant. There is a significant relationship between the personality trait of openness to experience and resilience in intelligence-security personnel (37.) and this level is also significant at the aformentioned level. The results of the general analysis also showed that there is a significant relationship between personality traits and resilience in intelligence-security personnel (36.) The general result is that according to the specific conditions of intelligence-security jobs, resilience is an important variable in adaptation and some personality traits are also related to resilience
