Abstract:
This study examines the methods of behavior modification from the perspective of Quran and Sunnah and its compatibility with psychological methods. The research is qualitative and the method used is descriptive-analytical and comparative. Based on the results, it can be said that in psychology, there is a debate under the title of self-monitoring and self-concept, and this debate is under the title of the principle of inherent human dignity from the perspective of the Qur'an and the Sunnah, both of which express methods of behavior modification. From a psychological point of view, self-monitoring has many uses. People use self-management practices to control their personal habits, health-related behaviors, professional behaviors, and personal problems. In Islamic ethics, self-monitoring and self-reflection are seriously discussed. The Qur'an and Sunnah point of view on correcting people's behavior goes back to the issue of trying to educate people in such a way that they can calculate their own actions. The difference in the perspective of the Qur'an, tradition and psychology can be summarized in the perception of an individual, which is called self-concept, and the similarity can be seen in the concept of spirituality, which has common concepts in the psychology and perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith. The most fundamental difference between behavior modification methods is that the view of Quran and Sunnah is based on religion and revelation, but the influence of psychological theories is possible in this field
