Abstract:
Copper oxide nanoparticles were prepared using the sol-gel method to measure the effect of these particles on biofilm formation. FESEM, XRD , FTIR and EDX where conducted to investigate morphology, crystallinity and chemical composition of the synthesized nanoparticles. In addition, the acquisition of nanoparticles has been confirmed.. E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeroginosa , P. mirabilis and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia have been examined as biofilm. Documented results showed that the high concentrations of CuO NPs were the most effective on the biofilm of bacteria especially the high concentrations of the nanoparticles. In the case of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and proteus the O.D. was 0.26 and 0.27 respectively and the other bacteria were showed no effects compared to control group, the overall findings is that all concentrations of CuONPs were active as antibacterial agents.
