Abstract:
Business intelligence (BI) systems are implemented by organizations to extract knowledge and insights from their data, enabling them to make efficient and effective decisions. However, statistics indicate that over 50% of BI projects fail. Numerous studies have attempted to identify the factors influencing the success of these systems. However, varying definitions of success have led to different findings. To address this issue, a qualitative and fundamental research study was conducted using a meta-synthesis method. The aim was to identify and introduce the dimensions and components that impact the success of these systems. This study identified 33 components and 5 dimensions that contribute to success. Additionally, a clear definition of the success of business intelligence was established, aiming to resolve existing contradictions. the findings of this research have significant implications. Practitioners in this field will gain a comprehensive understanding of the variables they should prioritize at every stage of the system's life cycle, enhancing their decision-making processes. Moreover, researchers in the field of information systems success will benefit from a deeper understanding of the available studies from the past decade.
