Abstract:
Having an accurate wet gas meter is crucial in the upstream sector. Due to the low liquid fractions dispersed in large-diameter pipelines, measurements are often performed with high uncertainty. Therefore, providing preconditioning systems to convert the flow regime to more suitable ones can help solve this issue. In this study, by developing an inline mixer along with a gamma ray meter, not only a quasi-annular flow but also a marked enhancement in the wet gas determination was achieved. The results show that liquid fractions were determined with a maximum relative error of 1%.
