Explaining the status of university culture in Iranian universities based on a semi-structured interview with experts
This research was conducted with the aim of explaining the status of university culture in Iranian universities with a qualitative approach. Required data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 14 experts in higher education. Open and axial coding was done on the interview data and the content analysis method was used. The data obtained in relation to interview questions in six aspects of the understanding of people from university culture, the components of university culture and their status, internal and external influences affecting university culture, the consequences of university culture, the proposed solutions. Academic norms, communications, academic qualities, academic behaviors, university autonomy, life in the university environment, and academic ethics are mentioned as components of academic culture. The university faculty does not provide a satisfactory image, and ultimately, the granting of independence to the university, Engineering in academic culture and the development of scientific communities and ... presented as a solution. The results of this research can be used for policy on academic culture.
