Measuring the Link Status and Visibility of Information Science Journals Websites in Alexa

The main goal of this research is to investigate the number of visits and links given to the website of library and information magazines in Alexa. The method used in this research is link analysis, which is one of the web measurement methods. The current research community includes ten websites of Iran's library and information magazines. Due to the limitation of the statistical population, a special sampling method is not used and the statistical population is in the form of a census. The research was carried out in September 2022, and first, the number of links received, the average number of pages visited, and the national and international ranking of each website from the Alexa site, as well as the number of indexed pages for each website were extracted and calculated from the respective website itself. Also, SPSS software was used for data analysis. The findings of the research show that the website of the publication of academic library research and information with the number of links received the highest average of 13,567 links and the website of the scientific journal with the number of links 24 received the lowest number of links received. Also, the information management and scientific knowledge website has the highest impact factor with an impact factor of 1437.5, and the website of the publication of information research and public libraries has the lowest impact factor with an impact factor of 9.083. In the ranking of website visibility based on Iran and the world, the Scientific Quarterly shows the highest visibility and the library research and academic information publication shows the lowest visibility. Among the main reasons that affect the visibility and effectiveness of the websites of the magazines under study are the quick and regular updating of their information, their age, simple navigation, the existence of previous issues of the magazines, and the free access to information. The site pointed out the lack of proper information and such factor. At the end, suggestions are presented for this purpose.
