Abstract:
In this paper the necessity of the investigation on the environmental impact assessment of power plants has been dealt with. Secondly, the major environmental impacts of thermal and nuclear power plants have been investigated. And finally, these impacts have been compared with each other. The study shows that nuclear power plants have less harmful effects on the environment than gas or steam power plants.
