Three Dimensional Numerical Simulation of Multi-Pollutant Dispersion from Network of Tabriz Refinery Stacks

Abstract:
In this study, three dimensional numerical modeling and simulation of multi-pollutant dispersion from network of Tabriz refinery stacks in actual scale using Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD) has been done. Simulation was done using Parallel Fluent Software in High Performance Computing Center (HPCC) of shiraz University using Pasargad super computer. Total cells was around 8 million and required time for running program using 12 parallel node (P4) with CPU=2400 MHz and total RAM=12GB, was 20 hr. Results of simulation was checked with measured data and there was good agreement. After that, effect of different parameters like wind speed and ambient temperature on dispersion of pollutants was shown. Finally, place of maximum concentration of pollutants on ground level was determined.
