A Survey of the Organizational Structure of Mazandaran Province Customs and Explanation of Suitable Pattern

According to the review of literature concerning the present research it is clear that organizational structure plays the most important role on the effective performance of today’s organizations ranging from the smallest companies to the largest governmental organizations of different communities. Regarding the important role of the structure on the efficient performance of the organization it is important to determine the suitable structure. In this article, after the literature review, using survey research, the existing organizational structure of Mazandaran province customs is evaluated and also the nature of jobs, style of leadership and organizational culture are investigated and analyzed and a suitable structural pattern for the Mazandaran province customs is presented.In this research, the statistical society and sample were 95 and 45 elements respectively. Data and information collection instruments were Documents, Interviews and specially Questionnaires, and collected data was analyzed by SPSS software. The conclusions of research states that the existing organizational structure of Mazandaran Province Customs has low complexity, high formalization and high concentration, and therefore it is oriented to mechanical structure. The conclusions of research also states that the existing jobs are simple and repetative and therefore oriented to mechanical structur, leadership style is harmonized to organical structur, and at last organizational culture is man-oriented, group-oriented, not risk-oriented, along with an unjust distribution of power and therefore it is oriented to mechanical structur.
