Comparison Of Myocardial Perfusion Scan With SPECT Method And Coronary Artery Angiography In Nemazee Hospital, Shiraz, Iran, 1999-2000

In order to compare the myocardial perfusion scan using Tc-99m-MIBI (SPECT method, with dypridamole as a pharmacologic stress) and coronary artery angiography, this descriptive study was performed on 64 patients. Sensitivity and specificity of the myocardial perfusion scan with respect to angiography were calculated in each of the coronary vessels and also in whole vessels. The sensitivity of perfusion scan of myocardium in the case of LAD is 96% and the specificity is 75%. For RCA these figures are 72.2 % and 75% and for LCX, 54-8% and 74.3% respectively. The overall sensitivity and specificity of myocardial perfusion scan is 91.2% and 86.6% respectively. Our findings are consistent with other published studies.
