Importance, Sanctity and Purification with Water in Shahnameh

Water as a life original source and the raw material of creation has importance, sanctity and values in our religion. It also is the cleaner and purifier of body and soul that can be observed in different religions such as Zoroastrian. Shahnameh as the most important manifestation of Zoroastrian contents has considered this characteristic of water in which the reflection cases of importance, sanctity and spiritual purification with water can be observed. This paper intends to show this water characteristic in different religions specially the Zoroastrian and illustrate its reflection in Shahnameh as well.
