Research Strategic Planning in Universities and Higher Education Institutions; Case Study: Imam Sadiq University(A.S)

Nowadays universities, as nonprofit organizations, like profit organizations, have an abstruse and turbulent environment, an environment whose resources, effects and expectations are constantly changing. Authentic guidance of university through such unrest and turbulence to achieve its vision needs correct identification and perception of environment and its mutations, realistic assessment of internal competencies and weaknesses of organization and making smart strategic decisions. This status has predisposed using strategic planning models in universities. In order to speed up the move of the Imam Sadiq University toward its vision, this research has tried to design and formulate grand strategies for Imam Sadiq University`s research domain as one of the most important activities of this university- using a proper strategic planning model.
