A Study on Generation Gap in the City Of Ahwaz (A Case of Students in Ahwaz Shahid Chamran University)

The aim of this article is to find out the generation gap in various contexts between children and their parents among students in Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz in Khouzestan province in Iran. The sample consists of 500 students and their parents in Ahwaz Shahid Chamran University. To test seven hypotheses we used value measuring system developed by all port and et al. Findings show that، there is a significant difference: Between daughters and their mothers in the theoretical and social values context، between sons and their father in the field of theoretical، economic and religions values، between sons and their mother in the field of theoretical، economic and religious values، Between daughters and their fathers in the contexts of artistic and political values. Hence، regarding generation gap (between children and their parents)، it was shown that، the more factor loading is on boys. In addition، there were significant difference between sons، daughters، and their parents in terms of attitudes towards parents supervision.
