Relationship between Burnout and Five Broad Domains of Personality amongst

This study reviews the relationship between burnout and five broad domains of personality amongst the staff of Tehran Municipality. statistical population involved the entire male and female staff working in the municipality of the seventh zone in 2009-2010, out of which a sample of 100 subjects (49 males and 51 females), was selected. The research tools were NEO Five-Factor Inventory and Maslach Burnout Inventory designed and developed in 1981. data analyzed by regression, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient indicated that the staff demonstrating a higher rate of neuroticism would also show a higher rate of emotional exhaustion (one of the components of burnout); moreover, the staff scoring higher on extraversion would demonstrate a lower level of emotional exhaustion.
