The present article attempts to study is formalist approach of Iradat al-Hayah' a well-known work by Tunisian poet Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi. In this connection, the author studies this poem in two aspects: fictional and musical structure on the basis of formalist analysis. The study shows that this poem has a correlative structure and there is great harmony between its poetical elements. The fictional structure contains most of fictional elements and at the same time, the phonetic parallelism has important role in the process of foregrounding the musical structure.
