Quantitative Analysis of Dolines in Karstic Regions

Dolines are the major landforms in Takt-e-Soleiman region which have been created in different forms and sizes. Dolines have not been distributed equally on the surface of the region. Variables like: area، perimeter، depth، and height from sea level are different and caused to special landscape in this karstic region. This study tries to consider all four variables and indicates the effect of change of each variable on another. Measurements of dimensions have been done by land surveying and by field studies for indicating quantitative characteristics. After statistics analysis following results are indicated: Although the biggest doline is located on the highest part of the region، there isn’t direct relationship between height from sea level and doline area. The perimeter of dolines have a significant relationship with area of dolines but this relationship with depth and height is very poor. In study of dolines of this region indicated that with the rise of the height، depth is increased too. The height is an important variable which as independent variable has effect on the other variables. Depth and perimeter are influenced by height. Height factor can have notable influence on area but tectonic caused to restricting area of dolines and lack of relationship with height.
