A Study of Relational Patterns and How Innovative Ideas, Methods and Suggestions are Presented in the University Libraries of Shahid Chamran and Jundishapur

Abstract:
The main aim of this research was to identify the ways in which innovative ideas, methods and suggestions were presented in the university libraries of Shahid Chamran and Jundishapur, as well as, to identify the relational patterns governing the same institutions. A descriptive-survey method was deployed. Samples included all staff working at various libraries in Shahid Chamran University and Jundishapur University. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test and t-test of independent groups. Findings revealed that libraries under study were welcoming new ideas more. It was also revealed that library mangers were more encouraging the library staff for innovative suggestions. It seemed that the participative pattern of management governing the libraries and staff's willingness to collaboration have increased. Also, it seemed that Shahid Chamran University in all the variables studied except for “welcoming the ideas, methods and new suggestions” had better structure than Jundishapur University. Findings stressed on the importance of giving more attention to new ideas and innovative library staff. Library managers can take advantage of the present research results, to identify encouraging and inhibiting factors affecting staff presenting new ideas and take steps to strengthen and reform them.
