MEASURING TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS OF IN SERVICE ENGINEERING EDUCATION BY ROI METHODOLOGY

Abstract:
The present study is categorized as an applied research. It is going to identify the deficiencies in the production of automobile industry and to investigate the role of human factors (knowledge and skill of employees) as well as to estimate returning on investment of in-service training in IKAMCO company. The statistical population included all the technical-engineering courses of this company; using simple random sampling where four courses were selected as the research sample. The data collection instruments consist of a questionnaire، case study and interviews. To analyze the data، SPC and SPSS software were used. The results showed that not only planning training programs can solve the problems in performance but also it will affect the other aspects directly or indirectly. On the other hand، training can be considered as an investment strategy. It has been estimated that 37،000،000 Rials (Iranian currency) investment in in-service training had 672،000،000 Rials return on investment.
