Role of Syntax in Achieving the Authentic Reading of the Quran

The Quran is the most rhetorical discourse revealed to the holy prophet of Islam in Arabic. Some of the verses of this book are subject to various readings. However, only one of them is authentic and others are inauthentic. One of the approaches towards distinguishing the authentic reading from the inauthentic one is the study and evaluation of readings based on syntactic rules. In order to indicate the role of syntax in achieving the authentic reading, the present article has studied certain variations in the reading of the verses of the holy Quran. It has thus established the point that syntax plays a big role in refuting, preferring, weakening, or authenticating readings.
