New Manifestations of Leili and Majnoon in Attar's Works

The story of Leili and Majnoon is one of the few stories that has attracted many Farsi-speaking poets, so that there are about seventy three mathnavis entitled Leili and Majnoon in Persian literature. This is only one of its effects. Many poets have decorated their language with the words and meanings of love found in Leili and Majnoon. There are a few no؛ poets who have innovatively created stories and parables out of this heart rendering love traces of such stories can be found in the Arabic sources and Leili and Majnoon mathnavis. Attar Neishaburi is an innovative poet who has attributed attractive and interesting stories and parables to Leili and Majnoon through the use of the words and meanings of Leili and Majnoon's love. This article tries to review Attar's works in this light.
