The Use of AHP in QFD for Measuring Customer's Wants and Rating Technical and Engineering Characteristics in the Shayeste Kashan Carpet Company
The use of qualitative measures has been considered more often lately; for instance, the quality function deployment in various industries for the sake of higher quality. But because of the inaccuracies in the matrixes of QFD, we have used AHP to overcome the problem. In previously written papers, there has been a slight error in the quality matrix and also some other matrixes which is discussed in this paper and a method is presented for the case. The first matrix (house of quality) is discussed in this paper. The data related to customer's needs has been collected and the technical requirements of the needs were determined concerning the experts ideas. Then, the priority of the criteria was determined by AHP. Finally, the house of quality matrix fully developed and two factors of price and carpet function and also, technical qualities such as the number of knots in each square meter and the amount of starch, gained the most importance. According to the relations observed in the quality house and its roof, an increase in the number of knot causes a significant increase in the overall quality.
