This study aims to predict core and compensatory schemas based on childhood abuse. Four hundred and twenty-two students were selected from three universities in Tehran (Iran) through cluster random sampling from May to July 2019. The Child Abuse Self-Report Questionnaire (Nourbakhsh, 2103), and the Young Schema Questionnaire (Young, 1998) were utilized. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 25 and the model was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression with the stepwise method in a descriptive correlational study. The results showed that all the components of childhood abuse had a significant effect on the core schemas. Also, some types of childhood abuse (physical, emotional, and neglect) had positive significant effects on compensatory schemas. Moreover, neglect and emotional abuse (β = 0.46, P<0.05) had the greatest impact on the core schemas, and emotional abuse (β = 0.35, P<0.05) had the greatest impact on the compensatory schemas. The results of this study could have therapeutic implications for psychotherapists working with childhood abuse survivors and schema therapists.

    Aim
Life satisfaction is so important that it can be said that it is the goal of life. The aim of our research was to investigate the role of the gap between goals and aspirations and the perceived chance to achieve them in life satisfaction among a sample of Iranian students.
    Method
The population included all students studying at Allameh Tabatabaei University (ATU), from which 250 students were selected using the available sampling method. The scales for assessment used in the study were Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Aspiration Index (AI).
    Finding
Pearson correlation results demonstrated that the gap between the importance of hedonism, community contribution, self-acceptance, self-image and financial success and the chance to achieve them with life satisfaction were negatively significant (P<0.01). Results of stepwise regression analysis indicated that 6% of variance of the dependent variable can be explained by the gap between the importance of goals and the chance to achieve them in the goal of financial success (P<0.01). Multivariate test results indicated that there is a no significant difference between the male and female students in terms of the gap between the importance of goals and aspirations and the chance to achieve them (P>0.05). T-test results showed that male and female students have significant difference in their life satisfaction (P<0.05).
    Result
Considering the role of the gap between the importance of financial success and the chance of achieving it in predicting life satisfaction, it is suggested that managers reduce this gap by creating jobs.

    Aim
The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of the strength-based intervention on self-esteem and suicidal thoughts in women victims of domestic violence in Ardabil.
    Methods
The current research was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest waiting list group design. The statistical population included all women injured by domestic violence who visited Hayat and Shafaq psychology clinic. In this study, 30 eligible patients were selected and randomly divided the participants into two groups: a family therapy counseling (n=15 people) and a control group (n=15 people). The experimental group was taught methods and techniques of strengths-based strategies for eight 90-minute sessions. The experimental and control groups were asked to fillout the pre-test and post-test questionnaires of the mental health and suicidal ideation scale. All statistical analysis was performed in SPSS version 26.
    Results
Compared to the control group, the experimental group with the strength-based therapeutic intervention was able to more effectively increase self-esteem scores and reduce suicidal thoughts at P<0.001. . The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups regarding increasing self-esteem and reducing suicidal thoughts.
    Conclusion
The results showed that using the strength approach increases the self-esteem of women injured by domestic violence and reduces their suicidal thoughts. Therefore, strength-based therapy is recommended for women affected by domestic violence to increase self-esteem and reduce suicidal thoughts.

    Objective
The present study aimed to compare the effectiveness of emotionally focused couple therapy and self-regulation couple therapy in the cognitive flexibility of couples on the verge of divorce.
    Methods
The quasi-experimental study consisted of pretests and posttests with a control group, followed by a three-month follow-up. As of 2019, the statistical population included all divorce-adverse couples in the Motahari Family Judicial Complex in Mashhad. Sixty couples who were referred to the Bahar Divorce Counseling Center in Mashhad were selected through the sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (emotionally oriented couple therapy and self-regulation couple therapy) and a control group. Each group consisted of 20 couples. A cognitive flexibility questionnaire was included in the instrument (Dennis, Vander Wal, & Jillon, 2010).
    Results
The intervention was effective in increasing the cognitive flexibility of couples on the verge of divorce (P < 0.0001); however, the effectiveness of both methods did not last long. In addition, there was no significant difference between the effectiveness of the two methods.
    Conclusion
According to the results of the study, counselors and psychologists in couples and families use the two methods of emotionally focused couple therapy and self-regulation couple therapy to improve the cognitive flexibility of couples with challenges.

Behavioral and emotional problems are the most common form of child psychiatric pathology. The aim of the present research is to effects of therapeutic storytelling on aggression and academic performance in children with oppositional defiant disorder. This experimental study was a pretest-posttest with the control group, which consists of 24 children with an oppositional defiant disorder based on a multi-stage sampling method was selected and randomly allocated to experimental (n=12) and control (n=12) groups. Storytelling intervention training was provided for twelve weekly 45-minute sessions to participants in the study group. At the start of the study, after 12 weeks, all participants were tested using the Aggression Questionnaire (AGQ). In addition to descriptive statistics, one-way (ANOVA) was used to analyze the results and all analyzes were carried out using SPSS-23 software. Based on the ANOVA, therapeutic storytelling was significantly more effective than non-treatment in reducing aggression (p <0.05). Moreover, storytelling training was able to increase the Academic Performance among children with an oppositional defiant disorder, significantly (p <0.05). Consequently, we can determine that the practice of storytelling therapy seems to be a promising area of intervention, not only for decreasing aggression but also for enhancing academic performance among with oppositional defiant disorder.

Emotional expressiveness and attachment styles are among the psychological variables that may be of so great importance in different groups in terms of psychological pathology and the effect of psychological therapies on these variables should be considered. In this regard, the aim of this study was to present the effectiveness of brief empathic dynamic psychotherapy on emotional expression and attachment style due to anxiety in Amol students. The research design was experimental studies with quasi-experimental design and pre-test-post-test with the control group. The statistical population of the study included all students of Amol universities in the first half of the academic year 2018-2019. In the first step, 100 people were selected by Convenience sampling method. And King and Ammons (1990) emotional expression questionnaires and Hazen and Sheaver (1987) adult attachment scale were administered to them. That among them 24 people of the received higher scores from the cutting point according to the inclusion criteria and they were selected as the sample. And were randomly divided into two groups of 12 experimental and control. The experimental group received short-term Psychotherapy with an empathetic approach (Seruya, 1997) for 12 sessions ). Then post-test was performed in both groups. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance and SPSS 20 software. The results showed that in the post-test stage, there is a significant difference between the score of positive emotion expression(F(1,21)= 4.78, p=0.04, Eta=0.201), negative emotion expression(F(1,21)= 4.78, p=0.04, Eta=0.204) and intimacy(F(1,21)= 5.364, p=0.03, Eta=0.22), anxiety attachment(F(1,21)= 8.81, p=0.007, Eta=0.296), experimental and control groups.
