Rafiei F., Ashjae Ardalan A., Asghar Baigi, Eamail Zadeh A Page 19
Microalgal growth can be restricted due to low levels of nutrients in the environment. Moreover, there can be changes in their biochemical content. Some microalgae are used for feeding various animal breeds. In spring of the 1390 a study was conducted at the Islamis Azad University of North Tehran Branch, Tetraselmis suecica was grown in f2 Guillard culture in various concentrations of nitrate (6.12 (low), 12.25 (standard), and 24.71 (high) mgL 1) and the effect of different concentrations of nitrate on the amount of protein, chlorophyll, and dried weight of algae Tetraselmis suecica was evaluated. Results showed that increasing the amount of nitrate significantly increased the protein content of algae (p < 0.05). The amount of protein by the 5th day of culture in high concentration of nitrate was at 5.8%, which increased to 10.7% by the 9th day. However, the amount of protein in the 9th day of culture for standard and low nitrate concentrations did not exceed 5.8% and 5.1% respectively. Chlorophyll a decreased significantly (p < 0.05) as a result of decreasing the available nitrate levels for algal cells. By the 9th day, the dried weight of cells grown in low nitrate concentration was measured at 0.18 mgL-1, and in high concentration of nitrate at 0.156 mgL-1.

This study was conducted to increase production per unit area in Persian Gulf Shrimp Site (Bandar Mogham) and took in 2010. 6 earthy ponds of 0.8 hectare were used. Shrimp species tested is Litopenaeus vannamei at PL12 age and stocking density was 38 PL/m2 done at 5-April, simultaneously. All ponds tested in this study were contiguous and all culture conditions are same. After 93 days of culture, 3 ponds harvest with single-batch method in 7- July. 3 other ponds for partial harvest methods selected and only 55 percent of shrimp were caught and 45 percent of shrimp remain for culturing period after partial harvest in this pond. After partial harvesting shrimp density reach to 14 PL/m2. Culture duration after partial harvest was 99 days and final harvest occurred in 16-October. After the final harvest and calculated total production and profit, the results show increased 121% equal in shrimp production (kg per Pond),160% equal in gross profit and 234% equal in net revenue (USD per Pond) took part in the pond with partial harvest than pond with the single-batch harvest. Finally good management took partial harvest must increased survival rate, shrimp production with larger size, shrimp produce more and eventually earned net revenue increases.

  • The Effects of the Different Time, Temprature and Sodium Metabisulphite Concentration on Absorbtion Rate of SO2 in Indian White Shrimp (Fenneropenaeus indicus) Muscles, Treated in Sea water
    Malakooti M., Bahri A.H., Yahyavi M., Aftabsavar Y., Karimzade R., Akbarzade R Page 45
Cultured shrimps is one of the important export in fishries, produces in Islamic Republic of Iran. After catch the shrimp from ponds, they were kept in slurry ice tanks for 30 seconds immediately. sampling was performed before treatment of shrimp with sodium metabisulphite (SMB) and afterward kept in ice boxes using ice and shrimp samples which preserved layer by layer. The samples were transported 130 kilometers, from Tiab (near the Minab city) to Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Ecological Research Institute in Bandar Abbass for laboratory examinations. The estimated means for length and weight of shrimp were recorded 11.5±0.90 cm and 12.2±0.62 gr respectively. In this study, several aspects of SMB treatments for prevention of melanosis were compared in order to produce high quality production for export purposes. The total absorption of SMB in muscle was estimated based of different time (0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 6 Minute), different temperature (0, 5, 15, and 25 centigrade), and different solutions with different Sodium metabisulphite concentrations (1.25, 5, and 10 %) in sea water (38 ppt) as well.Titration method using Iodine treatment was performed in order to determination of the remained concentration of SO2 in shrimp muscle. The results showed that the concentration of SMB, the duration time of keeping the shrimp in solutions and the temperature of solutions had same influence for absorbing the SO2 in our samples. The obtained results showed that the SO2 concentration has increased using treatments from 30 second to 4 minutes but this indice has decreased for a time treatment using 6 minutes for this purpose. The results regarding to estimation of pH for treatments showed that this indice has a contrast level respect to the SO2 concentration for treatments as well. In the other word, the pH level has decrease during increasing the SO2 concentration and increase during decreasing the SO2 concentration. The best records for preserving the samples were recorded using 5% SMB concentration at 4 minutes in zero degree of centigrade. These achieved record could be due to sulfure dioxide absorbtion by samples for 251±7.51 mg/kg. Due to ice melting, a part of sulfure dioxid was released during transportation and the final sulfure dioxide absorbtion were decreased to the expected scale for 100 to 150 mg/kg. Using mentioned concentration would be suggested for shrimp before transportation.
