The relationship between evaluation scores and the performance indices in the educational Hospitals of Kashan University of medical sciences

Hospitals with their special facilities have an important role in providing the health of the society. This organization like other organizations needs to be supervised and evaluated continuously. This study is aimed to determine the relationship between evaluation scores and performance indices in the educational hospitals of Kashan University of medical sciences. This is an analytic cross-sectional study which was performed in all of the educational hospitals of Kashan University of medical sciences. The data was collected by observing the hospital registries, statistical sheets and evaluation tables. To determine the relationship between the research variables, the correlation coefficients were used.Results showed that the correlation coefficients were as: Bed Turnover Interval Rate r=0.363; the Average Length of Stay r=0.338; Bed Turnover Rate r=-0.290; Net Death Rate or Gross Death Rate r=-0.309; Bed Occupation Rate r=0.097. The findings revealed that there is no meaningful relationship between the present evaluation scores of the hospitals and the performance indices. It seems that during the research, the evaluation of the hospitals was performed by their structural values and this kind of evaluation needs improvement and revision.
