Humankind instinctively tends towards beauty from instinctive desires and enjoys organization and cleanliness. Islam – as the religion of nature – has known cleanliness and neatness as a part of true faith and pays lots of attention to both of them. It is an important point to note that dressing up is not absolute but it depends on the person's goals. It will be admirable if people use God's gifts with the right intention in order to thank or show respect to him, or relate to other faithful people. On the contrary, it is indecent if they do it with wrong ideas such as showing off or pride or to show off their sex appeal to attract the opposite sex. The idea of paying attention well to the appearance is also condemned, because it stops people from achieving their spiritual or material objectives.Adornment is desirable for both sexes. Not only is Islam is not against women's self-adornment, but also in some cases recommends it. Regarding some psychological and physical differences between the two sexes, it has laid down some laws in choosing the kind and the usage of adornment. According to Islamic rules, just women are permitted to wear clothes made of silk and use gold jewelry. In this religion, woman has to show her beauty only for her husband and not for outsiders. So both men and women are allowed to beautify themselves according to special rules, in spite of some differences.
